Little Donkey Marchena 2026 – Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday marked the beginning of Holy Week in Marchena (Seville, Andalusia, Spain) with the procession of Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Paz en su Entrada Triunfal en Jerusalén (Our Father Jesus of Peace in His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem) and María Santísima de la Palma (Most Holy Mary of the Palm). They were accompanied by the Banda de Cornetas y Tambores María Santísima de la Palma (Bugle and Drum Band María Santísima de la Palma) and the Banda de Música Villa de Marchena (Villa de Marchena Music Band), respectively.

The procession departed from its headquarters, the Church of San Agustín, after a remarkable salida, as the size of the doorway is too small for the floats, requiring part of it to be dismantled and careful maneuvering. Numerous penitents dressed as nazarenos carrying palm branches, along with girls dressed as Hebrews, formed part of the procession.
