The night of Good Friday is marked by deep emotion and mourning following the death of Christ on the cross. The streets grow dim with the presence of the Cristo de San Pedro (Christ of Saint Peter), while his mother, María Santísima de las Angustias (Most Holy Mary of Anguish), follows behind, comforted by Saint John the Evangelist.
This brotherhood was founded in the 16th century and is based in the Church of Santo Domingo, formerly part of the Dominican monastery of San Pedro Mártir (Saint Peter Martyr).
