Procession of True Cross and Mary Most Holy of Hope Crowned in Marchena Seville Holy Week 2022

The night of Holy Thursday sees in the streets of the town of Marchena two brotherhoods, the Dulce Nombre and the Veracruz.

At 10:00 p.m. the doors of the chapel of San Francisco, canonical headquarters of the brotherhood of Santa Vera Cruz and María Santísima de la Esperanza Coronada, founded in the sixteenth century, open, starting the procession of Santa Veracruz, one of the banners of Holy Thursday in Marchena.

Crucified on a silver cross, the Christ of the True Cross and his mother, Santa María de la Esperanza, walk through the alleys of the old town of Marchena in a solemn tribute worthy of contemplation.

Especially noteworthy is his passage through the main church of San Juan Bautista, which we can see in the video.
