On Sunday, November 10, 2024, Our Lady of the Forsaken was taken out in an extraordinary procession to honor the 375th anniversary of the Brotherhood of Holy Charity, to which she belongs. The Virgin of the Forsaken has her own chapel in the parish of San Sebastián, from where she went out to the streets of Marchena, greeted by a large crowd. The Municipal Music Band of Arahal (a neighboring town) accompanied with a majestic repertoire. This image is not usually taken out. I’ve searched and haven’t found any record of a previous outing.
In Valencia, the Virgin of the Forsaken is their patron saint, and the figure they have, known as the ‘Peregrina,’ was set to visit Marchena and then Seville in the days leading up to this procession. However, due to the tragedy in Valencia caused by the floods, the visit has, understandably, been canceled
