Due to the rain forecast for January 5th, the parade was brought forward to the 4th, dazzling the town with an extraordinary display of creativity, joy, and an endless shower of flying gifts. The celebration featured music, dancing, costumes, and a heightened security presence to ensure everyone’s safety.
This year’s parade had a total of eight floats, significantly fewer than usual since many tractor drivers—who in Marchena volunteer their time selflessly—chose not to participate following the 2023 accident. In addition to the three floats of Kings Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar (portrayed by Miguel Ángel Talaverón, Lole Ortiz, and Agustina Galán, respectively), the following groups were represented:
- The Star of Bethlehem Float, which is assigned by lottery each year, was carried this time by the workers of the Home Care Service.
- The Pixar’s “Inside Out” Float, brought to life by residents of the Andalucía neighborhood.
- The “Mary Poppins” Float, managed by alumni of Santa Isabel School.
- The Circus Float, crafted by employees of the snack company Matarile.
- The “Lilo & Stitch” Float, filled with friends of Zaida Roldán, the town’s councilor for education.
